Experienced Legal Help For The Social Security Process

Reasons for hiring a social security disability attorney

On Behalf of Robyn M. Rebers LLC | May 12, 2022 | Social Security Disability Insurance |

If you no longer have the ability to earn a salary, it is probably time to apply for social security disability. SSD benefits cover essential living expenses and prevent you from falling into debt.

Applying is the only way of accessing these funds. You can handle this by yourself. Still, you are better off working with an attorney who understands the system.

Explaining the process

Working with government agencies can be intimidating and confusing. Attorneys that focus solely on SSD understand how you might be feeling. Have one explain the application procedure and answer questions. Afterward, your comfort level with what will happen should increase.

Filling out paperwork

Applying for SSD requires the completion of a form approximately 40 pages long. Applicants must supply extensive information about their medical conditions, education and work histories. This burden can be too much to bear for those in poor health. The Social Security Administration uses acronyms that are baffling to the average citizen. Instead of puzzling over what to put in every field, allow an attorney to guide how you answer.

Appealing rejections

Formally objecting after a denial of SSD is an ordeal in itself. There is a two-month window within which you may file your appeal. Should you miss that deadline, the application process must start anew. An attorney can act as a safeguard against this from happening.

Applying for SSD is more of a challenge than one might imagine. The help of someone knowledgeable about how these applications work is usually beneficial.
